On Wednesday July 27th, 2011 Bloomberg reported that the United States’ approval of Express Scripts Inc.’s  $29.1 Billion bid for Medco Health Solutions Inc. could change the whole system and method of how Pharmacy regulators manage medical costs for customers and how profits are made for Pharmacy managers. Express Scripts makes a claim that the merger of its company will benefit consumers because it will cut down the cost of producing medical prescriptions and thereby create savings for consumers. But from the business perspective, it is still under speculation from the Federal Trade Commission antitrust review whether the merger can benefit consumers’ medical cost while keeping the pharmaceutical marketplace fair, competitive, and profitable.
