Did you accidentally delete a file off your computer? If yes, we are here to help you recover that file. Read below to get started.
Go to the Recycle Bin
When you delete a file, you can recover it by opening the recycle bin on your computer desktop and finding the file you want to recover. When you find the file, click it to highlight the file. Next, go to your file menu and click where it says restore. This will place your file back on your computer in its original form.
When a File Does Not Go To The Recycling Bin
Sometimes, a file will not go to the recycling bin when deleted, such as a file on a zip disk. Data is never removed from the hard drive where you delete a file. What is deleted is the location of the file on your hard drive. Every folder and file on a hard drive is saved in a section near the beginning of your hard drive. This is wear your computer’s directory tree is located and structured. In other words, your file is invisible to the operating system but the file is still there. However, you can overwrite new data where the old file was located.
A hard disk utility can help you recover these types of files by searching data on your hard drive. This will provide you information on the file you are looking to recover.
Start recovering today so that you do not completely overwrite a file you need.
