Facebook's New Features Benefit Journalists

The Ticker is great for companies wanting to utilize it for breaking content. It is literally a live update of current events.

Subscribe

Journalist can now communicate directly from their profiles in a professional manner and let fans subscribe to them.

Public Updates

Journalist can post public updates and allow Facebook users to search for their public updates of reporting. It will be under “Posts by everyone.”

News Feed has a 5,000 Character Limit

Previously, there was a 420 character limit to Facebook’s status updates before it would make posts were turned into notes. Now with a 5,000 character limit, users and journalist alike can use the news feed like a blog. Facebook may become the new blogging platform.
