Meet our Team:
Steve Plumlee, CEO of Certified CIO, is an 18 year veteran of the IT industry. He purchased Certified CIO and became CEO in 2004. Since then he has steadily grown the business through satisfied clients recommending Certified CIO to their associates. He has worked as Director of IT for Chesapeake Research Review where he supervised implementation of new HIPAA regulations. He has also founded startups in custom IT services, strategic consulting and team management.
His broad experience has shown him that small and mid-sized businesses have a critical need for high quality, fairly priced IT support. It is also critical that their IT support be tailored to their specific needs. Too often, these needs are ignored by IT support providers who offer a one size fits all approach. Steve realized that by providing proactive support that reduces or eliminates costly IT problems, Certified CIO can keep customers’ IT overhead low while providing better IT assistance than competing companies with larger staff and higher prices. Steve has led Certified CIO to recognition as leader in the field and one of the dominant providers of managed IT services in the Baltimore region.
Steve graduated from Penn State University and is certified as an MCP, Microsoft Small Business Specialist, and also holds an A+ and CEHv8 certification. His personal expertise includes:
